The City of Overland Park, Kansas is located 15 minutes from Kansas City and includes about 56 square miles of Johnson County, in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The current population is about 145,000 residents, making it the third most populous city in the state.

The City of Overland Park retains much of its historic fabric within the downtown Overland Park business district, including the Clock Tower Plaza and the Farmers' Market Pavilion.

In the years 1993 and 1997, Overland Park was included in the book 50 Fabulous Places to Raise a Family. In 1996, the County Economic Research Institute ranked Overland Park number one among 13 AAA rated communities in the nation in a quality of life index.
